Vocational degrees are designed to prepare individuals to pursue a specific career or job field. CURRICULUM
There is no standard, textbook curriculum for Vocational courses. While many two and four year degrees require core classes in English, Math, and Science, Vocational degrees typically require only courses which directly correlate to the student’s chosen profession or job market. Vocational programs are usually shorter in length than other degree programs. Due to this, classes are typically highly specialized. The main objective of any vocational degree is to prepare the student with the skills and knowledge to pursue the profession of their choice.

CAREERS
Vocational degrees offer an incredibly wide-variety of career choices available to students. Individuals who posses these degrees may be able to pursue degrees in just about any job field. Some of the professions that are included are carpentry, electrician, welding, automotive mechanic, welding, and much more. If you are more inclined to bypass a four year education because you already know what you want to do for your career, then a Vocational education might be the right way to go for you. You can earn a degree in less time, and spend less time on core classes and focus more on the specialized classes needed to get you into the work force faster. DEGREES
Students who elect to obtain a Vocational degree will be awarded a Certificate degree. Obtaining a Vocational degree takes a lot less time than most other degrees. Students can expect to spend anywhere between a few months to two years in school learning the skills necessary for the chosen career path. Earning a degree in Vocational is typically less expensive than earning most other degrees. Once students complete this degree, they may earn a post-secondary Certificate or an Associate’s degree.
